Origami Sightings - Stamps (Part 2)

Compiled by Janet Hamilton

On page 65 of an edition of ORU a number of origami stamps are illustrated.

A 50cent stamp from Grenada titled “Donald and Mickey try Origami”.  Donald Duck is squawking in frustration and throwing shredded paper, while Mickey Mouse displays what appears to be a folded representation of Donald, complete with sailor’ hat with tassel.

Peru issued a 6.80s stamp in 1999 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Japanese immigration to Peru.  No details on the origami featured on the stamp.

The airmail stamps from France (circa 2002) has three different paper airplane designs upon it. In  France, stamp machines (machine which delivers computer stamps) deliver a small bill (size of a stamp) with a origami plane.
